Chris Mathison is a native of Mississippi. He attended Mississippi State University
where he earned a BS in Business Administration in 1997. He later attended Millsaps
College and earned a Master of Business Administration degree in 1998.
He began his insurance career in 1998 with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies in
Birmingham, AL as a Management Liability Production Underwriter. In 2005, Chris
advanced and moved to Jackson, MS to open a Production Office. Chris managed Chubb
Insurance Company’s Production Office for three years overseeing the Mississippi
territory.
In 2009, Chris founded Mathison Insurance Partners, Inc., a wholesale distributor of
insurance products in Jackson, MS. Chris was named President of the company in 2009
and holds that position today.
Chris and his wife Jennifer have two kids, Mae and Carter. They currently live in
Ridgeland, MS and are active members in Christ United Methodist Church.
Matthew Koury CPCU, a native of Jackson, MS attended the University of Mississippi
where he earned a
bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance. Matthew later attended Millsaps
College earning
a Master of Business Administrations.

Serving on various boards and committees, Matthew has acted on the board of
directors for the
Mississippi Wind Pool Association. Past-President of the Mississippi Magnolia
Chapter of Chartered
Property and Causality Underwriters and member of the Insurance Risk Management
Advisory Board for
the University of Mississippi. He also serves as President for Ole Miss RMI
Professional Society.
Matthew represented FCCI on the Mississippi Rating Bureau Board and the Mississippi
Workers
Compensation Assigned Risk Pool.
Matthew and his wife Bethany have two children, Marion and Peter. They reside in
Jackson, MS where
they are active within their church, St. Richards Catholic Church.
Preston Gough III is a native of Jackson, MS. He attended Mississippi State
University where he
earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management & Insurance and a Master’s of Business
Administration.
Preston began his career with Mississippi Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company in
2008. He joined
FCCI Insurance Group in 2013 and currently serves as Director of Underwriting.
Preston is a Chartered
Property and Casualty Underwriter and has served as President of the Mississippi
Magnolia Chapter of
Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters.
Preston and his wife, Bethany, have two children, Preston IV and Ann Roark. They
currently live in Madison, MS.
Roger Elfert is a native of Greenwood, MS. He attended the University of Mississippi
where he earned
a Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance and Risk Management.
Roger began his insurance career in 2003 and has served in various capacities with
insurance companies
such as FCCI Insurance Group (Mississippi Insurance Managers) and Companion Property
and Casualty.
In 2013, he joined Fisher Brown Bottrell Insurance Inc. where he currently serves as
Senior Vice President
and Director of Marketing.
He currently holds the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation. He
is an active
supporter of the Ole Miss RMI program where he has served as President of the Ole
Miss RMI Professional
Society. He is also an active supporter of the Independent Insurance Agents of
Mississippi where he currently
serves as Vice Chair of the MS Big I Young Agents.
Roger and his wife Kelly have three kids, Katherine, Larkin and Harrison. They
reside in Madison, MS where
they currently attend Madison Heights Presbyterian Church and he serves as a deacon.
Mims McLennan is the Marketing Director for BXS Insurance in Jackson, Ms. A native
Jacksonian,
Mims is a graduate of the University of Mississippi where he obtained both his
Bachelor and
Masters of Accountancy. Upon completion of his Master’s degree, Mims began his
career for KPMG,
LLP in Birmingham, AL. During his time there, Mims specialized in the financial
statement audits
of several manufacturing, banking and retail companies in the Birmingham
area.
Mims began his insurance career with BXS Insurance in the spring of 2015. As the
Property and Casualty
marketing director of the Jackson and Tupelo offices, Mims manages the day-to-day
marketing and
placement of all policies within BXS Insurance’s carrier footprint. Mims is also in
charge of managing
the carrier relationships for the Jackson and Tupelo offices.
Mims and his wife Kelsey currently reside in Jackson, Ms.
David Phillips is President of Southern General Agency in Jackson, Mississippi. He attended
Millsaps College where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration.
David is a United States Air Force veteran. He served several overseas deployments
receiving
the Air Force Commendation Medal and Air Force Achievement Medal. He also won Airmen
of the
Quarter and Airman of the Year.
David began his insurance career in 2000 upon returning from the United States Air
Force as a
commercial lines underwriter.
In 2003, David became the President of Dixie Specialty Insurance Inc. He remains the
President
to this day.
David and his wife Cassandra have 3 children and live in Brandon, MS.
Senior Vice President/ Professional Liability Broker
CRC Group
A third-generation insurance broker, Truitt is a Senior Professional Liability
Broker, for
CRC Group in Birmingham, AL and Jackson, MS, where he manages a team of other
brokers and service professionals specializing in the placement of complex
professional
liability coverages for a variety of clients.
He has been awarded CRC’s “Rookie of the Year” Award recognizing the firms top
producing first year broker, as well as the “Professional Liability Broker of the
Year”
Award recognizing the top broker from CRC’s Professional Liability Division.
He holds his Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designation. He
has
also been honored to serve on various Insurer Advisory Councils and Committees for
industry organizations such as Professional Liability Underwriting Society
(PLUS).
He received his BBA in Risk Management, Insurance, and Financial Planning from
Mississippi State University, where he was elected Treasurer of the student body and
active in Gamma Iota Sigma Insurance Fraternity, among others. He went on to receive
his MBA from University of Mississippi.
Truitt and his Shelley have three children, William, Mary Segrest, and Parker. They
reside in Laurel, MS.
Mike Leach began his work in the insurance industry by working at the Mississippi State
Rating Bureau for 12 years where he was also involved with the Mississippi Windstorm
Underwriting Association and the Mississippi Residential Insurance Underwriting Association.
He has also served as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Mississippi Fire Chiefs Association.
He started with TPI in 2004 as a consultant and later hired full-time as the Vice President of Operations.
In August of 2018 he was promoted to President of TPI. His duties at TPI include managing the day-to-day operations,
developing work flows and procedures, budget planning, supervising IT projects, and product development.
